Awhile back we bought a new vacuum, and like most new vacuums it is bagless. Since obtaining this little wonder I have become obsessed with what comes up from my carpets. It has a fill line which means you can vacuum with it until you reach that line and then you can empty it, but mine never gets to that fill line. I empty it probably every time I use it. I have to see just how much I'm picking up and I can not believe what comes up from the carpet! Even when I just vacuumed three days before. Here is my advice to you: if you haven't switched to a bagless vacuum, don't. Ignorance is bliss.

I did the same thing for a long time. Another tidbit of advice:Do not buy the one with the clean carpet indicator!! Our vacuum haso has a little light that lets you know when the spot you are vacuuming is clean. I HATE the thing as I cannot move onto a different spot until the little green lite turns on...UGH some rooms take me hours to vacuum!
I have the Dyson and I am totally shocked and amazed at what I suck up. We don't ever wear shoes inside the house so it blows me away how dirty and dusty the carpet gets. GROSS.
