I've been doing some catching up with an old friend and reading
her blog. She inspired me to finally do this post I have been planning for some time now. As previously discussed, I'm cheap. One of mine and Kent's favorite summer hobbies is going to yard sales. I get up at insanely early hours and get to as many as possible before we know all of the good stuff will be gone. Below are a few good deals we have gotten. I haven't been able to get a picture of the tent we got because we never got to go camping last year, but it's a really nice tent.
Two Owen Mortensen leaf pictures sort of like these.

I wasn't smart enough to take a picture of this Christmas Village when I had it up for Christmas but trust me, it was very pretty. It did have a few defects though, the adapter for the church didn't work and after it was plugged in to another adapter the bulb went out. But it's still very pretty and much bigger than it looks in the picture.

I only payed $3 for this Christmas train. I think I overpaid. It was cute and all but didn't run for long (like maybe once around the track) before the batteries wore out.

I got this mirror.....

And this table for $20! They are a matching set and the people had never even taken the mirror out of the box. It looks much cuter where I have it now than when I took this picture and it had our TV on it.

We got this lamp at the same yard sale as the table and mirror. It matches and was only $5!

I can't remember how much I paid for this cute little table but the inlay matches our
bar stools and pub table.

I got these cute curtains for 5
smackeroos.

One of my proudest
yard sale finds. My parents actually found the chairs for us at a yard sale in their town. They are in perfect condition. They also bought a farm table to go with it but the table was a little too small for us. One day we found this one at a yard sale for $30 and it matched perfectly! It even has a leaf and we have two more chairs in the basement so we can have lots of people over for dinner, if we ever got around to doing that.
Thanks for indulging my cheap side once again.
Angie, thanks for the blog topics. I am totally going to use those someday.

I like this...good idea, and really good deals. I love your house.
This yard sale/thrift queen gives you the official stamp of approval on all of your great finds.
There is nothing like finding a great deal on sweet stuff! I still argue that shopping is a sport. Deal finding is, anyway!
Oh girl, I also love a good garage sale! Maybe I shall post my great finds one day--just so you know, I can keep my "I refuse to pay full price for anything" image up.
Dude, you rock! I love it! And I would have NEVER guessed those cool finds were from yard sales!
I love a good yard sale! Too bad you didn't live closer and we could go together. You have some great finds!
